Early Years Curriculum
Each week some of our sessions are led by our qualified staff from our woodland classroom. This is a half acre woodland with both broad leaved deciduous and evergreen trees, which is dedicated specifically to forest school. Free from walls and restrictions, the children are free to interact with an environment rich in natural resources.
This dynamic and engaging learning is underpinned by the Early Years curriculum and uses a wide range of activities from arts and crafts to cooking and building shelters in order to inspire our children.
We now have two NVQ Level 3 Forest School Qualified staff who are responsible for planning and leading these unique sessions for our children on a weekly basis.
For past and present pupils
For the first time in July 2015 we held a two day Forest School Summer Camp at the start of the summer holiday. This was designed for past and present Broad Town Pre-School pupils between the ages of 3yrs and 7yrs who had Forest School experience.
The children and staff had a wonderful two days working together in the woods, enjoying everything from building shelters and cooking lunch on the open fire, to creating a bug hotel , raft racing and making boggarts! All funds raised went towards the Broad Town Pre-School Charity.
